On Oct 8th I joined the lovely crew of sessions at the hideout theater in Austin texas on congress ave. it was loads of fun standing there painting showing off my skills and talents, then i painted.
Painting's dead. Its very dead sexy too. Empty canvas--You have colors--you have lines. You start to move your brush accordingly, then life kicks in. The horrors, heartaches, the disappointments, setbacks every aching moment that will establish what will be spit out on canvas. but not yet. love, life, happiness, sex, friendship, culture, everything comes at you at once, when you move your hands on the canvas feeling your colors rather than using a color wheel or something you learned. You have no time to react. Your day job calls, school, other projects. Then something happens, you don't sleep, you paint at night, in the mornings, during breaks (in your head) you struggle to connect everything happening to you to the canvas. Your mind is in a perpetual state of surrealism and chaos, delusion and paranoia. Affecting everything. You keep painting, laughing, crying, whatever rollercoaster you've created. Like a Disney, porn-horror film. the human female form enters--inspiring in its beauty contrives all that life is. All the passion that bleeds out your heart. perpetual circle. Love birth life death. At the end of the exhausting session, the new is here. ---Jesus Monsivais
